Delaware daycare workers accused of running toddler fight club

Three employees from the Hands of Our Future Daycare in Dover, Delaware were arrested after a cell phone video showed employees watching and encouraging two 3-year-olds fight each other.

Tiana Harris, 19, Lisa Parker, 47, and Estefania Myers, 21, were charged with Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Endangering and Conspiracy for the incident, which occurred in March of 2012 and was captured on cell phone video.

In the video, police say one child can be heard crying and yelling, ‘He’s pinching me,’ while a daycare worker responds, ‘No pinching, only punching.’”

“Clearly one of the children is crying and does not want to continue on and he is pushed back into the fray by one of the adults,” Dover Police Captain Tim Stump said.

Cristyl Slack says her four-year-old daughter was in the room when the fight happened in March.

Jonathan Agrees To Reverse Decision on N5000 Note

President Goodluck Jonathan has agreed to reverse his administration's plan to introduce the 5000 Naira note.

The currency restructuring, announced by the Central Bank of Nigeria, would have seen the unveiling of the N5000 note as the highest naira denomination while lower currencies were to be converted to coins.

Weeks of public outrage criticizing the policy culminated in the Senate and the House of Representatives, approving separate resolutions on Tuesday, demanding that the plan be suspended.

Mr. Jonathan met with the leadership of the two arms hours after the National Assembly sessions on Tuesday and assured that any “approval given in the regards can be reversed since it is the wish of the people,” lawmakers informed about the decision said Wednesday afternoon.

It remains unclear whether the president has issued a directive to that effect.

United States warns its citezens in Nigeria

Following the attack on the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which resulted in the death of the American ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff, the US Embassy in Nigeria yesterday issued an emergency warning urging its citizens to take extra caution. The US Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, was killed on Wednesday along with three other US diplomats after the country's consulate in Benghazi was attacked by protesters angered by a provocative video on Prophet Mohammed made in the US. However, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who also spoke on the Benghazi attack Thursday, described the ambassador's killing as the fallout of the ouster of former Libyan president, Muammar Gaddafi. The US Embassy in Nigeria, in a statement, said: "Extremists may attempt to target US citizens and other Westerners in Nigeria. The situation in Nigeria remains fluid and unpredictable." The embassy cautioned its citizens to take into consideration the frequent murders carried out in recent months by Boko Haram, and urged American citizens "to consider their personal security."
